Another Race Down

Another race down for Glisten founder, Allyson Felix. Allyson competed at the Adidas Track Classic where she ran the 200m. This was her first 200 of the season and while she wasn’t that thrilled with her time of 22.66 seconds, she was pleased with a victory.

Allyson Felix Opens Season

In her first track meet of the year, Glisten Founder Allyson Felix, ran the 4×100 and 4×400 relays at the Jackie Joyner Kersee Invitational at UCLA. She was able to lead her 4×100 relay team (Dawn Harper, Michelle Perry, Ginnie Powell) to a come-from-behind victory. Her 4×400 relay team (Carol Rodriguez, Natasha Hastings, Michelle Perry) had a huge lead by the time Allyson received the baton on the anchor leg and easily ran away with the win.

Allyson Felix named to Presidents Fitness Council!

Glisten co-founder Allyson Felix was named to the Presidents Fitness Council.

The President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports is an advisory committee of volunteer citizens who advise the President through the Secretary of Health and Human Services about physical activity, fitness, and sports in America. Through its programs and partnerships with the public, private and non-profit sectors, the Council serves as a catalyst to promote health, physical activity, fitness, and enjoyment for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities through participation in physical activity and sports. The twenty Council members are appointed and serve at the pleasure of the President.

We are so proud of Allyson and her commitment to the promotion of health and fitness. Other notable council members are Eli Manning of the New York Giants and fellow Olympian Michelle Kwan.

Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America

November 18th was a big day! Not only did Glisten co-founder, Allyson Felix, turn 23 years old on Tuesday she was also honored by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America! The AAFA was founded in 1953 and is the leading patient organization for people with asthma and allergies, and the oldest asthma and allergy patient group in the world. Allyson was recognized alongside of some truly remarkable people. Other honorees were Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Jeanette Bolden, Donald Sterling, and Erin Brokovich.

Allyson Felix Update

Glisten Co-Founder, Allyson Felix, has been a busy girl!! Now that the Olympics are over and Allyson has come home from Beijing with a Gold and a Silver Medal she has been trying to find time to relax while balancing a busy schedule. Right after coming home, Allyson hopped on a plan to Chicago to be a guest on Oprah’s Season Premiere. After Oprah she was able to spend a couple days at home in California, before having to catch a flight to London for a Stella McCartney fashion show. While Allyson was in the air, Glisten sent out our first email. Although Allyson is now back in California her schedule has not slowed down all that much, tonight she was in Newport Beach announcing a new partnership with Children’s Miracle Network. This is a partnership that she is very excited about, Allyson loves children and knows that CMN is a great way for her to give back.

Olympic Trials ‘08

Today is the first day of Olympic Track and Field Trials. Glisten co-founder Allyson Felix will be competing in the 100 and 200 meters as she attempts to make the US Olympic Team. I’m going to try to give updates to let everyone know how she is doing. Please pray for her and cheer her on!
